Evaluation of a new formulation of Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis.
The aim of this study was to determine the potency (ITU) and efficacy of a liquid formulation of Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis developed by the State University of Londrina named BioUel, against early fourth instar larvae of Aedes aegypti and Culex quinquefasciatus. The ITU/mg of BioUel was 960, the LC₅₀ was of 0.271 (± 0.39) ppm, and the LC₉₅ was 0.634 (± 0.099) ppm, in larvae of C. quinq...
متن کاملA semifield evaluation of Vectobac DT (ABG-6499), a new formulation of Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis for control of Aedes albopictus.
We evaluated the effectiveness and duration of effectiveness of a new formulation of Bacillus thuringiensis var. israelensis (Bti) for control of larval Aedes albopictus. The product tested was Vectobac DT (ABG-6499), a Bti tablet formulation containing 3.4% of active ingredient (3,400 ITU/mg) supplied by SCAE Valent BioSciences Italy S.r.l. The study was conducted at the Botanical Garden of th...
متن کاملEvaluation of a new tablet formulation based on Bacillus thuringiensis sorovar. israelensis for larvicidal control of Aedes aegypti.
The effect of sunlight on the efficacy and persistence of an experimental tablet formulation based on Bacillus thuringiensis sorovar. israelensis (C4P1) was evaluated against Aedes aegypti larvae under simulated field conditions. The initial mortality ranged from 93 to 100%, and the residual activity (> or = 70% mortality) recorded in containers exposed to sunlight or shade were, respectively, ...
متن کاملAntibacterial activity of Cyt1Aa from Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. israelensis.
Cyt1Aa is a delta-endotoxin protein that is produced by Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. israelensis. It is a membrane pore-forming toxin that is lethal to insect larvae and is broadly cytolytic to vertebrate as well as invertebrate cells. Cyt1Aa is produced as a protoxin of 27 kDa. Proteolytic activation results in a reduction of the molecular mass to approximately 23-24 kDa and a threefold incre...
متن کاملOral toxicity of Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. israelensis to adult mosquitoes.
The solubilized entomotoxin of Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. israelensis killed adult male and female mosquitoes of several genera and of various physiological states when it was administered orally. Adult mosquito mortality was further influenced when the preparation was contained in sucrose solution. The potential implication for the control of adult mosquitoes is discussed.
